When heater pipes and extraction vents are fitted through the roof the original works are often carried out by the engineer fitting the appliance.

Often it is the case that water ingress occurs around these penetrations as seals break down after time.

To alleviate this problem we supply and fix a new purpose manufactured ‘ski slope’ flashings complete with all necessary fixings and sealants, comprising a substrate material of galvanised sheet steel with an outer protective coating of PVC Plastisol.

SCS Roofing Commercial Roof Extraction SurreyThe new flashings will run from ridge to obtrusion, effectively covering the profile of the sheets to prevent water build up behind the leaking pipe, flue or vent.

New flexible pipe flashings can then be installed to complete the process. These rubberised flashings can be specified for both hot and cold applications.

Pipes, Flues and Vents Projects

During August 2018 we carried out an over-roofing to a factory roof in Worthing, West Sussex.
New single skin plastisol coated steel sheeting was fixed onto new spacer purlins that were fitted over the old roof.
New 200mm thickness Rockwool insulation was laid between the 2 no. roofs to help regulate the temperature within the building.
The wall between the 2 no. roof levels was also sheeted over to ensure the area was effectively sealed.
New rooflights were fitted over the existing rooflights to provide natural light.
The roof was finished off with new purpose manufactured contrasting coloured flashings.
The gutters adjoined next doors building so were coated using a 2 pack water based flexible coating.
The pipes and flues were sealed with new ski-slope flashings and rubberised pipe flashings.

During the heatwave in June 2018 we replaced 42 no. old rooflights with new translucent roof sheets in a warehouse roof in Morden, Surrey. This increased the natural daylight transmission as well as ensuring the rooflights weren’t leaking.

The existing roof fixings were rusting and we therefore replaced them with new precision formed fixings with integral heads.

In addition we fitted 2 no. flashings to ensure pipes that protrude through the roof were effectively sealed and removed 1 no. redundant pipe and fitted flashings over the exposed hole to ensure it is effectively sealed.
