Pitched Roofing

SCS Roofing Pitched Roofing SurreySolutions can vary depending on the severity of the problem. Random repairs, such as simple sheet replacement, overlay sheet or the installation of new flashing may be adequate to resolve minor issues.

Replacing the roof lights may also be an option to cure leaks in these areas. Where problems are more severe a complete new roof consisting of either and over-roofing system or a total replacement option will ensure long term peace of mind.

SCS Roofing Pitched Roofing SussexThe advantage of over roofing is that the original roof remains in place to provide weather protection, whilst a proprietary grid system is installed to support the new sheeting. Disruption to the day to day running of your business is minimal compared to a strip and re-sheet.

Over-Roofing also provides an ideal opportunity to incorporate additional insulation, thereby reducing heat loss and solar gain through the roof.
We recommend that existing rooflights are replaced prior to the over roof to maximise natural daylight within the building.

When a new roof is required Composite panels comprising of two skins of steel but with rigid polyurethane insulation factory bonded to the steel faces can be installed.

SCS Roofing Pitched RoofingWith its high performance, versatility, and speed of installation, the composite panel is regarded as a superior product to the built up system, but at a slightly increased cost.

One advantage of a new composite roof is the internal aspect of the building is enhanced.

We are approved installers of Kingspan panels.

Pitched Roofing Projects

During August 2018 we carried out an over-roofing to a factory roof in Worthing, West Sussex.
New single skin plastisol coated steel sheeting was fixed onto new spacer purlins that were fitted over the old roof.
New 200mm thickness Rockwool insulation was laid between the 2 no. roofs to help regulate the temperature within the building.
The wall between the 2 no. roof levels was also sheeted over to ensure the area was effectively sealed.
New rooflights were fitted over the existing rooflights to provide natural light.
The roof was finished off with new purpose manufactured contrasting coloured flashings.
The gutters adjoined next doors building so were coated using a 2 pack water based flexible coating.
The pipes and flues were sealed with new ski-slope flashings and rubberised pipe flashings.

In May 2018 we fitted 2 no. new opening rooflights into a pitched steel roof which was situated over the offices in Guildford Surrey.

The rooflights had new ski-slope flashings fitted all round to ensure the area was water-tight. Additional flashings were also fitted to divert the water away from the new domed rooflights.

The new rooflights let additional natural light into the rooms below. They are also able to open to provide ventilation and to help the heat escape on hot days.

During April and May 2018 we carried out a strip and re-sheet of a warehouse roof in Worthing West Sussex.

The old double skin asbestos cement sheeting was stripped, loaded into skips and removed.

New 120mm thickness composite panel sheeting incorporating factory assembled rooflights was fitted in its place.

The rooflights had a white tint applied to help reduce glare and solar gain within the building.

On one side the roof was extended past the existing concrete gutter and new half round guttering and a new fascia was fitted to the outside wall.

The other gutter adjoined a higher level flat roof so a new membrane gutter liner was fitted.
